GM’s Announcement

Given that it’s about a week between posts, there won’t be an official post this week while Spring Break is running its course.  While this doesn’t affect most of you, I’d like to keep everybody on the same page.  Plus I haven’t received homework from a couple of you. *glare*

When are we going to start back up then? I have no life, so it’s very easy for me.

Just a question. Would anyone be interested in creating a forum or the like associated with this to develop more “party talk.” We could work out combined approaches to the various obstacles we face and have more interactions. As it is, it seems like very much like a class assignment where we see a paragraph on the board and finish it as our homework. I would like to see more character interaction and development in this. The forum is just the first idea that came to mind. Would anyone like be interested in character growth like this?

I believe I would agree with Sean on the opening of some sort of forum for character discussion/social interaction. For all of my technical knowledge, I’m not much of a web-head. We’ll figure something out though!

We could do that. I’d need to find a good forum to use. The thing about setting up a forum is this was tried before, but it sorta fell on its face after about a month. In the meantime, you can talk amongst yourselves in the comments and through e-mail.

We could talk among the comments. There seems to be a delay in between the posting and them showing up. I guess that’s because comments have to be approved first. All comments on here would be public, not quite one character to another. Besides, how are we supposed to get in a good party strategy with the DM already knowing our plans?

The delay is because of just what Sean said: I moderate the comments. For a good while, we’ve been getting spam comments like crazy, and we still get the occassional spam comment. And I’d still see your party strategy in a forum, anyways. A good game master rewards players for good, well-thought-out plans and finds a way to challenge the players whenever they wind up with a killer strategy that seems to work for most encounters.

I don’t mind the DM knowing that I’ll crash haedlong into anything that presents itself in front of my axes! I do favor a bit of strategy, but mangy orcs and highwaymen don’t really seem to be much of challenge for my fine companions!

Perhaps it would be ok to do postings for character to character on strategy on here. The problem is due to the delay. It’s just a burden on Chris to have to filter everything. The plus side is that we don’t have to go somewhere else to do that. If we find a forum somewhere else, it would mean another site to check up on before posting here.
